Thinking of draining the battery on your Android device purposely? This may sound strange, but there are some situations that require you to drain the battery on your device purposely. Whether you want to store a device for a long period of time, or maybe you just want to know how long it takes the battery to charge.

However, it is recommended that you should only discharge the battery down to anywhere between 40% and 70% before recharging it. Completely discharging a Lithium-ion battery is not good for any device.

Every user must know not to get the battery charge from getting below 20%, not make it a habit, at least. Today we will show you how to drain the battery automatically and faster than normal by using an app and by doing it manually without installing any app.

 

Drain the Battery Manually

Here are some ways how to drain the battery of your Android device without having to download and install an app.

 

Open Most Of or All Your Apps

Opening most or all of your installed apps and leaving them running will surely drain your battery faster, especially if you have a lot of apps on your device.

 

Keep the Screen Awake

Set the screen to never go off in the lock screen settings if it is allowed on your phone. This will drain the battery faster. If your phone does not have an option to leave the screen on indefinitely, use the Smart Lock feature when you are in certain situations.

 

Change Your Screen’s Brightness to Maximum

To drain the battery faster, change your screen’s brightness to maximum. Go to Settings > Display > Brightness. You will have to turn off Adaptive brightness or Auto brightness to turn up the brightness all the way.

 

Turn On Wi-Fi When You’re Not In Range Of a Wi-Fi Network

Turn Wi-Fi on even if you are in an area without W-Fi available to drain the battery as your device tries to find a Wi-Fi network.

 

Drain the Battery Automatically & Faster Than Normal

Fast Discharge is a free app that you can download on Google Play store which helps you discharge your device’s battery faster and without requiring you to use the device.

After installing Fast Discharge from the Play Store, the Battery power shows the current battery level and you can see this at the top of your screen. The Goals battery percentage shows the percentage you want the battery to discharge to. To change this value, use the slider.

Below the slider, choose the methods that you want to use to discharge the battery. The more methods you select, the faster the battery will discharge. To start the discharge process, tap Discharge inception. You might not want to choose Operated Vibrator as it is a bit noisy.

After a while, you will see the remaining time display to the right of the Goals battery percentage.
