When this gaming phone flagship made its debut in November 2017, it rapidly changed the demand for smartphones.
Because of the first Razer Phone, we no longer just look at the camera and the unique features, but we shifted our attention to power and performance. Everything else can be put aside. This gaming-focused device also introduced the “UltraMotion” effect which appears to be appreciated by many.

Familiar Boxy Design
Just like its predecessor, the Razer Phone 2 will come looking like a piece of box. We don’t really mind, though. In fact, the design stands out from other devices since other brands tend to copy-paste the latest design trend.
This physical build was done on purpose to accommodate the 4,000mAh battery, the vapor cooling system, and the enormous stereo speakers. Sadly, we can’t find the audio jack, since the brand adds the water- and dust-resistant features. This also means it is equipped with fast wireless charging.
It also made a few changes at the back. The dual-camera is now centered and the logo is now illuminated with Chroma LED. The back is also made of glass. The material looks fancier, but that also means it’s less durable.
16.8 million colors and 120Hz display
The added Razer trademark Chroma LED at the back logo also acts as a notification LED. It will light up when you get a message. Users can pick from 16.8 million choices of colors and can even set dynamic effects such as static, spectrum, cycling, and breathing. Of course, you have the option to turn the feature off the save battery.
The Razer Phone 2 also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate LCD screen. Just the perfect feature for a smooth gaming experience. They also fixed the brightness issue from the previous Razer phone. It can now hit 645 nits in brightness which is more than 50 percent brighter than the first one.
Power Overwhelming
The new Razer phone is powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor – 2.8GHz, Adreno 630 GPU.
You get 8GB of RAM to enhance your gaming experience and avoid lag. However, it only offers 64GB of internal storage, but can be expandable via a MicroSD.
The Razer Phone 2 also highlights the vapor chamber cooling system. This will keep your phone from overheating during excessive usage and will keep CPU throttling at bay. The Razer Phone 2 offers 30 percent more power compared to the first one.
The battery is also powerful and made even better due to the power-saving features of the 120Hz display. Running out of juice is not even a problem. You can charge about 50 percent of your battery life for only 30 minutes. Thanks to the Quick Charge 4+ charger.
Price and Availability
Razer Phone 2 is obviously not affordable. It is priced at $800 in par with the Pixel 3. The phone will be sold in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and will accept pre-orders starting October 11. The brand will also be launching, alongside the phone, the Raiju Mobile Bluetooth controller for $150.
