The Galaxy smartphone can be used to do all sorts of cool things. You can transfer files to your friends by bumping your phones together, for example, or turn a bunch of phones into a wall of speakers.
But one Romanian guy provided free advertising for Samsung this past week by attaching his Galaxy S4 to a drone and flying it high above the town of Brasov, Romania.
That ‘Romanian’ guy is Szabi Ignacz, who managed to take some truly stunning video over his town.
The drone is a cool-looking robot made up of six different propellers and controlled by a remote device. During the flight over the city, the drone was able to catch some spontaneous shots of street life in Romania while confused (and possibly terrified) onlookers craned their necks to watch.
Check out the video here:
Personally, I’m impressed by how smooth the video appears to be. I don’t know if that’s a testament to the Galaxy S4’s camera or the technology behind the remote-controlled drone. But Szabi says the phone was attached to the drone with no stabilization system or post-processing technology at all. Sure, it’s a bit shaky at times, but remember that the drone is a couple hundred feet above the ground in the middle of a city.
It’s also easy to admire the color of the rooftops and the architecture – especially if you watch the video in full HD.
I don’t know about you, but I kind of want to visit Romania now. I also kind of want a Galaxy S4.
