As anybody who’s played an Android game already knows, in-app purchases are an inescapable part of our favorite operating system. You can’t run very far in Subway Surfers without being asked to buy more coins and other garbage, for example, and it seems like every Android game has something that it wants its users to buy.
Well, today we’re going to show you how to block in-app purchases on your phone. This is useful if you:
-Are sick of seeing in-app advertisements for in-app purchases
-Don’t want your kids to “accidentally” charge hundreds of dollars to your next phone bill
Step by step guide
Step 1) Go to the Google Play Store app
Step 2) Select Menu
Step 3) Select Settings
Step 4) Scroll down to the User Controls section until you see the field where you can Set or Change PIN
Step 5) Click on the Set or Change PIN box and enter a special PIN that only you know
On iOS, the Restrictions menu has a checkbox that completely disables the ability to buy in-app items. On Android, we’ll have to be satisfied with simply having a PIN on our accounts. Now you just have to hope your kids aren’t very good at guessing numbers.
